All-new FILIPE ANDRADE original art from his monumental CAPTAIN MARVEL run will drop tomorrow, Tuesday September 8th, at 9AM PDT/12PM EDT! Filipe's hot streak continues!
Over the last few years, no artist has sold out as wide a range of work as Filipe. From WHAT IF? MAGIK to ABSOLUTE CARNAGE: THE IMMORTAL HULK to DOCTOR STRANGE: THE END to GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, and more. And standing above them all, his character-defining work on CAPTAIN MARVEL. Safe to say, were it not for Filipe and writer Kelly Sue DeConnick re-imagining Captain Marvel for the modern era, she would not be the Marvel Cinematic Universe A-lister that she is today. While Andrade is still a relative newcomer, what he has in common with these more established artists is -- without sacrificing clarity -- a daring, utterly audacious approach to figures and storytelling that confounds the reader's expectations for a modern cape comic. You can get impeccably drafted, photorealistic and cinematically rendered superhero action in any number of Marvel or DC comics, but on virtually every level Captain Marvel offers the capes fan something he or she rarely gets to see: a properly kick-ass, takes-her-cat-to-the-vet super-heroine drawn not just respectfully, but truly awesomely.
