We miss SDCC as much as anyone, but our SDFC last week was an absolute blast in its own right. All thanks to the original art collectors and fans who supported our efforts! And check out all the love shown to modern comic art:

Comic Art Dealer Market Data Results July 20-26

An important goal when we started was to increase the visibility of modern art (in our opinion, the talent level across the board is higher than it's ever been) in a hobby and market that's been traditionally dominated by vintage art. We're getting there!

A big part of that has been making collectors aware of how cool it is to own a complete issue. We're now well over 100 complete issues sold...and the latest one is also a record for Ryan Stegman. His SPIDER-MAN/VENOM FCBD #1 now resides in one of the hobby's greatest collections...enjoy scans here!:

UPDATES

A lean/mean 10-pager, featuring the true first appearance of Virus! Ryan's hard at work on the upcoming blockbuster event with Donny Cates: KING IN BLACK. Following megahits VENOM and ABSOLUTE CARNAGE, KING IN BLACK brings Knull to the Marvel Universe proper, taking on not only Spider-Man, but the Avengers and X-Men, as well! KING IN BLACK is scheduled to debut at the end of 2020 and is sure to be among our biggest titles for 2021! I don't know if any issues will sell complete yet, but best not wait too long if any issues get broken up! Good luck in advance to all!

Ryan continues to be blown away by how fast his art has been hoovered up by fans. He's given me signed/sketched comics for giveaways before...and now he's going to step up to full-on sketches! Just like our DWJ sketch giveaways, these will be 4X6 sketches. We will give away 3 sketches via lucky draw to our newsletter subscribers. Winners will be notified next week. Finally, our SECRET STORIES OF COMIC ART Podcast fundraiser for the cancer charity organization Paltown.org is just about at the $25K mark. Thank you for your donations! We're going to keep it going, and we're also getting help from friends. Our pal Andy Beall, lead animator at Pixar, is creating a series of original art drawings that will be auctioned to benefit Paltown. We're incredibly touched by Andy's efforts and will share more details as he gets closer to launch. Please keep watching and we hope you'll bid to get great art and support a great cause!
