Yuko Shimizu / Bilquis Evely NAACP benefit auctions start NOW!
Published on June 21, 2020
Our benefit auctions for the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund continue with new contributions from YUKO SHIMIZU and BILQUIS EVELY...round 9 starts NOW!
From Yuko, we have a 12"X18" illustration of RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan as a Shaolin monk! This was done for the VIBE Magazine story, "Who is Music's #1 Genius?". Yuko is a Gold Medal winner from the prestigious Society of Illustrators, and her work always sells out whenever we get it. This piece is pure Yuko, and was personally selected for this auction!
From Bilquis, we have the original art for THE DREAMING #2 page 15. 11"X17". THE DREAMING was just nominated for Eisner Awards for Best Series AND Best Artist (for Bilquis!). This is the ONLY page Bilquis has ever sold from THE DREAMING, so don't miss this chance!
Please place your bids in the post for each of the pieces on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook. Whichever is your social media outlet of choice. OR you can submit your bid to me directly. I will then update social media with the high bid.
Both auctions will end tomorrow, Monday June 22nd, at 5PM PDT/8PM EDT. Don't wait until the end to bid and risk forgetting about it...place your bids early and often! Remember, ALL proceeds go to the NAACP! PLEASE help spread the word!
(IMPORTANT NOTE: All winners will donate directly to the NAACP via a link we provide, so any tax deductible amount is yours. (Please consult your CPA first!) As well, for those who have employers who will match donations, we will consider that part of your bid. So please contact us before bidding if you plan to utilize that. Thanks!)
Thanks everyone, and keep watching for our remaining auctions over the next few days!
Felix
