I'm humbled by the continued outpouring of support. I'm unable to reply to all of them, but please know that I have read every single message. Thank you.
This is a new experience for us; the grieving process will be a bit learn-as-we-go. We know it will take time. For now, I will get back to work. This job has been a welcome distraction these last couple of years when I've needed it, and I imagine it will continue to serve that purpose for a while.
Beyond that...we finish what we start. We set out to support the Black Lives Matter movement with our auctions, and we're not going to quit before we complete the task. At the halfway mark, we have raised $35,325 for the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund. This is far ahead of the pace we set out to achieve. We're optimistic we will exceed our goals by the end. Your support has been extraodinary, kudos!
Our top performing auction has been for Paul Pope's BATMAN: YEAR 100 piece. That originally finished at $11,500. Paul was so happy with that result, that he decided to make sure the piece gets published! When the winner got that news, he raised his contribution to $17,250! Amazing. Thanks so much to ES for his generosity.
We stll have over a dozen truly special pieces on deck, so please look out for updates, both via this newsletter, and on social media (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook). We plan to resume auctions tomorrow. Good luck!
