It's time! Tradd Moore's SILVER SURFER: BLACK original art drops tomorrow, Wednesday November 6th, at 9AM PST/12PM EST!
This is perhaps our most anticipated drop of the year, with every issue thus far having sold complete. We could have sold every issue complete...except that Tradd insisted that we break up one issue so all fans could have a shot.
So tomorrow, we will be offering art from the final issue, SILVER SURFER: BLACK #5, just as we had promised on social media last month. But here's a surprise: Tradd and I have secured art from SILVER SURFER: BLACK #1 and we will be offering that as well! Thanks to Tradd and the owner for working with us to make this happen! It won't just be art from the last issue, we will also have art from the FIRST issue! Perhaps the most significant art from the entire story, the opening and closing chapters, will be available!
The prices for the complete issues have been some of the highest ever achieved, with issue #4 setting a new record (of the 100 complete issues we have sold). The individual pages will thus be priced accordingly. Cover collectors take note: There will be ONE cover available, the only one that hasn't been attached to a complete issue sale. Time payment plans will be available (with prior approval), but we understand that the pages may still be out of reach for many buyers. So in order to give as many fans as possible a chance to obtain an original from Tradd, he has graciously provided sketches on the sold-out first printing of SILVER SURFER: BLACK #1! Both on the regular cover, as well as the limited edition sketch cover. Check out the group pic on our social media (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook). Tradd rarely does commissions, and no longer sketches at shows, so we really appreciate that he made the effort to do this for us! These will be priced so that all collectors will have a shot at owning something special from this incredible series!
Tradd Moore's SILVER SURFER: BLACK represents some of the most ambitious art ever attempted in a mainstream comic. It's transcendent and game-changing, altering the landscape of what comics can be, in the same way nothing was the same after artists like Jim Steranko, Michael Golden, and other visionaries showed what they could do. Every page is a masterpiece. We've been very fortunate to be able to offer truly significant art over the years...this drop, though, feels particularly historic. Best of luck to all tomorrow!
