After 4 weeks and 9 rounds of auctions...featuring 30 pieces of art donated by our amazing artists…we have a final tally: $80,611! THANK YOU!!
This total is just shy of the $82,175 we raised over the summer for the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund. Which is remarkable…I didn’t think we’d come close!
But due once again to the incredibly generous donations from our artists, and your enthusiastic support, we just about got there. Incredible!
We ended the auctions with Tradd Moore’s piece last night…and it sold for $19,500! Setting a new record for our charity auctions, topping Paul Pope’s previous record of $17,500!

I’m just blown away by what we’ve been able to accomplish, and it would not have been possible without the support of this hobby, from artists to collectors. Again, thank you.
Now, for where this is going: Very shortly, Paltown will announce The Second Opinion Project sponsored by The Lu Family Fund. This is my initiative that I will be co-ordinating with Paltown. Each month, we will award 10 grants to patients in helping them seek second opinions for more aggressive treatment. Treatment that we hope will, minimally, extend their lives. And perhaps even lead to cure for some (or many!) of them. We have a longer term goal, which I’ll discuss later. But ultimately, we want to improve standard of care treatment, and improve prognosis.
